Went to replace chain and sprockets today and discovered i have extra spacer fitted to rear from standard and also for some reason a thrust type washer fitted as spacer behind gearbox sprocket. The swinging arm is a metmachex has anyone got any knowledge of having to use extra spacers to align chain with this swinging arm i am beginning to think its a bodge and the swinging arm is for a different bike. Also the chain i removed is 94 links long where the standard is 92 ah! Any help or advice most appreciated as weather is good and bike is in bits. Quick recap extra spacer on rear axle sprocket side, extra spacer behind gearbox sprocket (thrust washer) and non standard 94 link chain.

I have a metmachex on my z900 and the spacers on the back wheel are standard and also the front sprocket has no spacer behind it. I cant 100% remember about the chain but I think the last time I replaced it all I just bought a standard kit.

Just checked and the last chain I bought was a 630 - 92 link.

Thanks Jumbo any chance you could measure the length of the ar from say the swinging arm pivot to the end of the arm also the width of the arm at the back may not be possible with wheel fitted so no worries if thats the case.

The length from the centres of the pivot and axle is 500mm my axle is at the 6 o clock position.

The back is difficult to measure but I would say approx 300mm on the outside and approx 230mm on the inside. The thickness of each adjuster boss is 35mm.

Does anyone know the standard swingarm measurements ?

I guess you are only interested in the lengths not the diameters !

From the chain side there is a spacer that sits in the seal 21mm

The one that fits inside the sprocket carrier bearing is 42mm

The spacer inside the wheel between the bearings is 64mm

The one that fits on the outside of the brake plate is 34mm
