Problem with ape bronze valve guides

Bought some vgk900 ape valve guides to fit into a spare head I am rebuilding and intend to fit to my GPz1100b1
I give the head to my local engineer to fit the guides, but I got a phone call from him to say the exhaust ones are a little bigger and the ape ones just fall in the hole inlets are ok ,got them from him for a look the inlet one looks original steel with a snap ring as a stop.but the exhaust one looks to be bronze none magnetic I am thinking someone has changed the exhaust ones but not the inlet does anyone know if they should be the same size and both steel, forgot to say the exhaust one has a fixed ring as a stop rather than a snap ring like the inlet. I have not seen originals before so not sure what to expect but going on the ape number they should be correct it also states 650 through to 1100 2v but they are all the same size.any help would be great cheers Brian.
