Cam Cover Oil Leak

Hi Guys
I have been working on my Z1A where i changed the the gasket between the cyclinder head and the cam cover. I just ran the bike down the road on a test run and when I got back I could see some oil leaking from under the cam cover. Can anyone tell me what the torque settings are for the cam cover bolts. I have hand tightened them but i am not sure that is enough. I am a bit heavy handed and so I am trying to avoide damaging and bolts by over tightening them. Would be a great help is someone could let me know.

Thanks Irishkev

had this problem when i changed my gasket, i just tweaked each one in turn and it fixed it, never did use a wrench.

They do "settle-down" after a few runs (hot/cold cycles) - and I just nip them by hand to avoid stripping them, also use a small 10mm spanner - less leverage

IrishKev, as Z!Bman says 70 IN-Lbs is correct, before tensioning check the usual place for leaks ~ the rubber half-moons.
Also, check for hair-line cracks on the adjacent outside edge bolt supports.
I never use a torque wrench for 6mm bolts, just develop a feel with a small levered 10mm spanner, as Pigford & MikeZ!A suggests.

Thank Guys
I am a little heavy handed, as I have strip the threads before that is why I am relucant to put a spanner to it but I will try and nip them, then I will use the troque just to confirm.

Thanks

This is what I use............

1 inch drive ratchet with a 1 to 3/4 stepdown, onto a 3/4 to 1/2 stepdown, onto a 1/2 to 3/8 stepdown, onto a 3/8 to 1/4 stepdown, onto a 10mm single hex socket.

Hope I've been helpful.
