Running with 10mm offset wheels on a z1000j ?!?!?

#1 PostAuthor: marve114 » Sun Jun 01, 2014 9:52 am

Hi guys

A lot if you guys are a lot more experienced than we at chopping bits around on these old bikes ....

Running suzuki bandit 1200 running gear
180 section rear wheel 5.5" rim

My question is with the chain runs close to the tyre about 4-5mm and in order for me to align the sprockets I've got to offset the wheels by 10mm..

I'm using a 15mm offset front front sprocket so the chain is close to the frame

I know there are a few bikes that run like that I was just wondering if any of you guys have done or doing it .
Is the zrx one of them ?

I know the bike is never going to handle like a modern bike but that's not the point, just wanna do the old girl right :)
