Just put all the valves back in and dropped the tappet buckets on and all fit great except one which is very tight. The socket is all clean and the bucket looks ok. Any reason why and if it's a proble?

if the cam cap bolts are too long they will damage the valve bore?

Have you tried swapping the buckets about to determine if it's the bucket or the bore ?

If there has been any weld repairs in that area it can distort the bucket bore.
If this is the case or it isn't a rogue bucket then wipe the bore with some engineers blue or permanent marker and push the bucket in.
You will need to remove the valve first so you can access the under side to tap it out again.
You should be able to see any high spots and then carefully ease them down with some 1000 /1200 grade wet'n'dry.
Repeat the process until the bucket slides as easily as the others.

That's a relief I have tried everything listed. I'm sure the buckets are in the same locations and have give the bore a rub down with wet and dry. I'll persevere and try the marker pen.
