Has anyone succesfully painted and plated their carbs black?
If so, how did you do it?
I have a set of BS34s which will be going on my GPZ750, but they're plain alloy and I would ideally like them black, if it isn't too much of a nightmare job.
Cheers

I had my carbs soda blasted and then painted them with simoniz tough black, look good but this paint reacts with petrol so I wouldnt recommend it.
Find a petrol resistant paint and it is easy enough to do

I did some. They were from an ELR so were black, but getting tatty and needed a good clean, so I left them for a day in thinners. Didn't need any blasting and after a good clean with solvent panel wipe, I sprayed them with good quality 2K (PPG Deltron) with satin agent (Lechler Matt3??). Looked spot on.
I examined the carbs before I stripped and dipped them, they were sprayed as an assembly and so that's how I did it.

Thanks for the help.
It sounds like they need to be professinally sprayed to get a good finish (I don't know anything about 2k), but being able to spray them assembled sounds promising.
