Have you considered getting yours refurbed by a fork chromer?

I take it that is where the needle rollers run, thus the chroming??

Yes Jim.
It's the same hard chrome and can be redone.

this might do the job it uses the same needle roller bearings but you need to check the dimensions

If that does the job, then it is a right good buy.

Must be worth buying, even to modify at that money.

thanks for the ebay link ,that looks ok ,i'll check the measurements of the old one and compare .if it's longer than standard it's just a matter of cutting it to suit.
i have spotted a few on ebay usa which are good value.
i pulled one out of a z750 l2 swingarm i have and it the same except 2mm shorter ,it will do if i,m stuck.

What about a nice stainless shim 1.0mm at each end??
That would work.

Knut, I'm out of touch with the Z1000-A1 & A2.
Did they have needle rollers as standard?
If so, were they double needle rollers each side?
I always thought they had those two steel sleeves into phosphor bronze bushes, just like the Z900-A4, with that silly distance piece in the middle.

I do know that the replacement needle roller kits are great for the Z900 and that these kits do supply a ground steel distance piece. So, maybe Jimmock's 2 x 1mm spacers would work or maybe just 1 x 2mm spacer?

The a1 had 1 needle bearing each side
And the a2 went with 2 either side.
As jimmock says I,ll cut the old sleeve
To make a 2mm shim and we should
Ready for the road.
I also found bearing in the sprocket
Carrier /hub badly worn,no doubt caused
By the extra swing arm play.now replaced
With a sealed bearing .
