My Z1b is quite nice, but has quite a few pattern parts. It is my intention to replace these with originals as and when I can find them.
My brake master cylinder is a pattern one.can any one post a picture of an original, so that I know which one I need please.
I see there are are couple on ebay at the moment [with plastic/nylon reservoir] but dont know which is the correct one

Better still has any one got one for sale?
Cheers Gary

I think the Z1B had the transparent res. The US Z1 and perhaps the US Z1A had the solid metal ones like the H2 where the European ones always had the transparent ones. They aren't very expensive.

US spec Z1B has all alloy M/cylinder.
UK spec has plastic insert type M/cylinder.

Steve,
thanks for this, so my all alloy [pattern] one will not be too far off then.As my bike is a US one.
Wonder why they were different ?
cheers Gary

Maybe they thought that plastic reservoirs would pierce and spill contents far more easily than a metal one ??

Perhaps some markets in Europe (possibly Germany or Scandinavia) had tighter safety laws, and the level of hydraulic fluid had to be shown at all times. I would imagine it would be more expensive to make the composite reservoir, so if it wasn't required, as in the US, they used the existing all alloy one.
