Hi just after a bit of advice,
after starting my z1000 mk11 motor (thats been stood for ten years)
it smokes badly for a minute or so then clears,
the day after same again,
it runs fine, maybe stuck rings?
maybe inlet seals no good?
what do you think guys?

Probably caused by hardening valve stem/guide oil seals especially if the bike has been unused for years. oil seeps past guides and burns up on fire up.

I concur with my fellow members- valve stem oil seals.

I suppose you'll be after all the goodies on the KZ Zone site next....lol
http://kzzone.com/
But that would be expensive. As you're taking the head off, I'd just lap the valves in after checking everything is within the standard tolerances.
But that would be boring and sensible. As its christmas soon, tell your family they are getting kz parts from Santa

Well, you can get $2.08 to 1 pound at the moment. Contact Jeff at Z1 Enterprises to see what he can do for you.

Slowly bring the parts in each month up to christmas - they don't notice a big plastic bill then

Cam bearings from Debbens (see links) ....
Jerry does an exchange system for paid up members of this club....
and clearance is 0.10mm or 0.004" for older Zeds, not 100% sure for MKII

clearance is 0.10mm or 0.004, the same wont hurt,
