I'm looking to replace the rear axle nut on my Z1R with a Nylock nut. Does anyone know what thread these nuts are? (& where to get one from?)
Cheers

Is That legal?
Not certain but I thought it needs a mechanical securing device for the MOT.
i.e. the 'R' clip.

'R' pin/Split pin not needed if using locking nut.
Virtually no modern machine uses R or split pins now as most use lock nuts.

Its a case of necessity being the mother of invention. With the Dresda arm fitted, the standard axle isn't quite long enough for the R-clip arrangement but a locking nut would fit.
I'm presuming that this is either standard 'fix' when fitting a Dresda Arm or they were supplied with a different axle? Another alternative would be to have a new axle made, but that might be an expensive alternative.

Well when I say 2.0 pitch, that's what Kawasaki used for the rear spindle on a Z1000J.
I've just found a listing that says it's 1.5mm pitch for the Z1R etc. so I may be incorrect.
Have you not got any vernier calipers?

Err, I have....Am I right in thinking that you need to measure 10mm and count the number of thread peaks to find the pitch? (ie 10 peaks = 1.0mm pitch, 5 peaks=2.0mm pitch, 6.6 peaks =1.5mm pitch)

Spot on there Fred.... Not sure about the 6.6 though.
I'd bet on it being a 1.5mm pitch as opposed to the 2.5
Have a look at this lot..........

I personally think it will be "fine" instead of normal standard pitch.
Standard bolt of 18mm has a pitch of 2.5mm.
Most items that can shake or vibrate loose are fine threaded.
