Z1100ST Swingarm

How do you remove the swingarm from a Z1100ST?
This picture below is what you see when you remove the triangular cover (pictured at the bottom). There is a threaded 5mm hole in the centre of this "spindle" . I know its not a spindle as such as there are 2 of them (1 each side) that the swingarm actually pivots on.
I've tried screwing a 5mm bolt into the centre, but it gets very tight very quickly. I don't want to force it in case I break it (lots of the parts are rusted / seized).

I've seen the resto in projects by Vduk but it is unclear how it actually comes out. Thanks in advance Freddy.

if it is seized drill & tap the 5mm thread to 6mm & about 12mm deep. get a peice of all thread 6mm thread & about 50 mm long & screw into the bush. then remove the allen bolt from the bush end cover place the cover over the 6mm all thread. you will then need three 8mm bolts about 50mm long & use these to secure the cover to the frame only screw them in about 10mm then put 6mm nut & penny washers over the all thread & carefully tighten the the 6mm nut to remove the bush. use plenty of penetrant & you may need some heat .

Thanks for the reply z1bman,
is the 'bush' supposed to pull out, or has it got a left hand thread,so when you tighten the 5mm bolt it screws out?
I've never seen 1 of these bushes out, so dont know how it works :??
Thanks freddy

the bush just pushes into the swingarm the 5mm thread/ bolt is only for pulling it out

Z1Bman, your help with this problem was invaluable. Without your photo and description I'd still be scratching my head.
This is how I removed the bushes, I kept packing washes up until I'd got it extracted. snapped a couple of bolts in the process. Lots of lube and heat as Z1Bman had said. (Only had 70mm bolts in this thread, hence the "socket spacer")
