Hello I'm currently restoring a 1978 z1000a2 but have hit a bit of a cross roads I'm now contemplating making a bit of a special with some revised/ more modern parts, ie swing arm, brakes, wheels, forks.
However I want to try and avoid huge engendering projects, I don't mind having thing adapted and spacers made etc but don't really want to get into single rear shocks and fork leg extensions etc.
Does anyone have any experience of fitting zephyr parts?

If so what adaptions are needed for the swing arm and head stock?

Are there any other makes and models to look out for?

Thanks for any help
Dave

Speak to big fluff or check out his Z1000J he fitted a 750 Zephyr front end, seemed pretty straight forward to do.

Thanks for the replys iv been offered a 1997 zr550 zephyr cheap so I'm just trying to find out if that runs the same front end as a 750. It does appear to the the same visually.
I think I'll go and logo at the bike armed with a tape measure and a set of vernier calipers. Lol

Hi

I stuck a Zepkyr 750 front and back end on a Z1000 a few years ago, have a look in the projects section- it was straight forward enough and worked well
