Sometime in the future I'm going to be looking to upgrade the front and rear end on a Z750L4 I have in the back garden, can anyone one suggest a complete set that would work? I have use of an engineer to do the pressing out of the steering stem and welding up etc, but wanted to know which would be a good fit, i.e. the forks would be long enough and the swinging arm would fit reasonably easy.
Any recommendations would be apreciated.
Cheers

Keep it simple and fit Zephyr 750, complete front end will probably slot straight in and back end with alloy swingarm etc.

Thanks for the replies.
I'll probably keep an eye open for a Zephyr front and back end, will be easier for me.

you may need to sleeve the swingarm pivot down I think the zephyr's have 17mm swingarm bolt and the z's is 15, but not a 100%

Gary, on the 650 frames you would need to sleeve it down, not sure about 750 frames. Though you will need a spacer both sides to stop it moving side to side. Zephyr 750 arm very alike, but has no channel down outside edge of arm,but is just smooth. also 750 arm a bit more bracing behind pivot tube, but don't think it makes any difference.

Well, it turns out the swinging arm bolt is just too big for the frame, so, what is this sleeving down you speak of?

Gary, Go see Barry, he did mine. What I did was use the original swingarm bolt for the frame which will be too small for the swingarm. He made press in sleeves for the swingarm taking the i/d down to the same as the bolt.
The other option is drill out the frame either side so the bigger bolt will fit, difficult to go back if you go that way.

Cheers Jim, I thought I would be calling on Baz.
I thought of drilling the frame, but may want to swap the arm around in the future.
I don't suppose you remember the widths of the spacers you used do you?
