Headlight
guys. just putting my headlight back together and finding it difficult referring back to the components parts list as i never had that many bits.
I have the black shell, a lens and a chrome ring. I have mounted the shell onto the fork brackets with the indicators and all looks good.
I assume the hole in the bottom is for a nut and bolt and earthing point. Where does the black u shaped bracket go?
i assume you have to remove the rim to adjust the lens?
Is there a subject with pics on this?

Just purchased a 1976 UK Z900 A4 for renovation. Wish me luck.

The stay causes a problem with vibration.
Even without the stay the original bulb 40w45 can blow so quickly that it becomes necessary to take a pack of 10 bulbs with you on even the shortest of journeys.
Use your original for show and and something like an LC lamp for riding with.

Z1bman, You are usually "spot on" with parts & part nos, as you are in the above case. However, I have found that these parts are essential in most semi-sealed beams also.
Regarding the stay [the black "U" shaped piece], as Tic says, it caused problems with vibration and, although there was an improvement in globes, the stay was discontinued in later models.
Adjustment of lamp is done externally, via philips hd screw item 2 on diag.
