Evening gang :D

As you know I have the Harris project at Harris and was originally going to fit a GPz1100 engine to it, bit of a change as the cost to carry out the modifications to fit the engine is more than the cost of a new frame!

So I need any solid mount 900/1000 engine, I was thinking of bidding on this

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... 1308478649

If I won could anyone help collecting it and taking it to Harris for me?

Obviously beer tokens would be offered

Or does anyone have an engine that they want to sell?

Please can you let me know if you can help? Or does anyone know of a company that can collect the engine of take it to Harris?

I work in RG29 (just now untill they sack me anyway)
I can pick it up and take it home if it helps but as for Harris,.. i wont be going there anytime soon.

Do you really need to splash out on an un-known engine and then pay to export it?
Could Harris not get by with empty cases if its only the position of the mounts they need or is it more involved?

he has one feedback as a seller and you are thinking of buying an engine from him that he wont post to Australia (probably because Australia have a returns policy that he doesnt want to honour) id be careful there myself.

Hi Lads,

Has anyone got or know of an engine for sale then

The only reason its going to Harris is they can put in the crate along with the engine, you pay for space more than weight when you export to Australia.

Spence, the address for Harris is

Not really in any rush Gary, they have not started on the frame yet, reckon its a good three months off from leaving Blighty.

Hey Spence that would be really good, not too sure if I'm going to bid yet, must admit I'm in two minds at the moment with the previous comments.

Would prefer to buy one from someone on here!

Easiest part to swap is the GPZ head with an APE Idler tower conversion .
The gearbox needs an output bearing conversion and modifications to fifth gear, but you will need the z9/1000 gear selector mech, drum and forks of which the drum and its 3rd gear fork also need modifying.
GPZ head has bigger combustion chamber volume so the 2 point compression drop will need addressing and the gear box swap needs careful setting up.
Crank and barrels will also fit but you need to convert the upper crankcase to take the slipper tensioner mechanism.
