I have tried a search on the site but can not find a numbers guide Hopefully someone can ID these numbers for me, would i be correct in thinking the engine might not be the original ?

Could be a 76 z900 A4

Hard to tell from what you have shown, too many ###
But numbers for the A4's can be anything up to 10,000 apart

scroll down the page lists engine frame nos, etc.

Not a lot of info for the Z9's (Mostly the Z1 series) on the various databases, but this is as near as I can find to yours.....
So I'd say your numbers are spot on.
