my zed is hanging on at low revs? it was running fine then out of nowhere like a lump of shit, checked all rubbers found a tiny split in one so replaced it with new, reassembled and it was better, but still more like a 500 than my zed 1075,more fiddling trying to get as good as seal as poss, slightly better again, rev up to 8000,but still not crisp and as it was,is there a sealent that i can use on rubber_carb to add extra seal as i am sure this is the root of my problem and on disassemble there was a jelly like substance in rubbers, help!!

If the clamps are in good order and on new rubbers you shouldn't need anything else to achieve an effective seal, also there is a good chance that some of that jelly like substance you speak of has now worked it's way into the carbs, sounds like a good clean is in order.

petrol only last a few months, you can often tell because it smells like vinegar, dont put it on your chips though. I had a race bike a few years ago that wouldnt run right on the dyno, seem very flat, petrol was only about 3 months old, put new in it and it was perfect.
