Can anyone recommend a good ultra sonic cleaner fluid for gummed up 30 year old carbs? to use in my cleaner my good lady bought home from her work

Try contacting Ultrawave for details of their range.

Use the ultrasonic as the last phase in the cleaning process.
You need to fully strip and degrease the carbs as normal prior to using the ultrasonic.
After much experimentation I found plain hot water works best with maybe a small amount of detergent (fairy liquid).
Blow them through with the airline as the final step.

But as Rob says, you'll get better results if the carbs are thoroughly degreased first.
