over shift bushing

where exactly does the bush fit on the transmission

Are you fitting an air shifter ? as you only really need it if you are.
It goes on the end of the selector fork shaft behind the inner case that holds all the seals for the output shaft, clutch pushrod and gear selector.
You need to remove the gear lever, outer sprocket cover, front drive sprocket and then the inner cover and then it just slots on the end of the shaft next to the selector mechanism.

thanks for that rob
no not fitting an air shifter but building up a new motor from scratch and thought as i had one lying about would put it in as i rebuilt the transmission.

Another associated upgrade for older engines is a solid selector shaft - the one the "over-shift bush" fits on. The later engines actually have solid shafts :wink:
