Z1100R cam shaft cap bolts

can anyone confirm the torque settings for these,manual says 17N-m which seems rather high

6 lbs/ft is more than adequate.
Use the wrist ratchet if you dont have a low range torque wrench or angular wrench.
Forensically examine all cam cap bolts and discard any or all that have any signs of 'waisting' at the lower end of the plain shank where the thread begins.
Discard any that have signs of wear on the threads.
Dont use locking agent.
Turn the engine over several times to seat the cams and re-check the tightness.

The value given in the manual is incorrect as you have mentioned.
