Right, that's it! There's a definite need to upgrade the brakes on my Z1R. I've already cleaned the standard calipers up but the thing is still a deathtrap in waiting.
I'm looking for anyone who can make me / sell me a set of caliper brackets so I can fit a set of more modern Sumimotos / Nissins / Brembos / Tokicos. Failing that, has anyone got a pattern I can give to a machine shop to knock some up please?
Thanks
Fred

I found a significant improvement in my brakes when I changed to Hel brake lines all round last year - and the front ones were already (Venhill) braided lines.
Obviously as part of the process of changing the brake lines you also end up replacing the brake fluid and bleeding the system - this in itself can show some improvement and if you've not done this for a while I would suggest this could be a cheap and easy 1st step.

Hmmm
after a bit of thought and very useful communication with Baldylocks and Buzzard, I think my first effort will be to replace the the current front master cylinder contraption with something more modern (GSXR1000) and fit a simple two line connection between the new master cylinder and the old calipers. I'll see what a difference the less convoluted set up and new fluid brings. If thats still lacking in the retardation department then I'll follow Baldylocks' K100 Brembo caliper set up (and speak nicely to Buzzard about his engineering prowess).
