My 900 has been previously bored to standard 1000 (ie. 70mm) Im pretty sure the pistons used were factory items but not sure. Is there some way of identifying them, because i need to replace one which has grabbed at some stage and is longer any good. Are new ones still available as individual items, and who sells them. Or if I replace it with a good second hand one up to what year are they interchangable? If someone has a good second hand one theyd be willing to sell, it would get me out of trouble.
Cheers

Kwaka, I know for sure that z1000-A1 & 1000A2 will fit, I believe the 1000J could be different (piston crown to piston-pin distance). TYhese pistons should be readily available, as they are a common piston.
I think most old Z900 are now fitted with 1000 piston after being bored to 70mm.

To identify, the standard 70 mm pistons have ART embossed on them and have STD and an arrow head stamp on the top of the piston, with two light under-cuts for valve clearance.
