Its the Newbie here.....
Had the bike 2 weeks and started to wonder when it would go on to reserve......
You've guessed it, I ran out of fuel completely...!
When it began fading and spluttering, I switched to reserve and nothing happened.....it just stopped.
Luckily I was only about 600 yards from a service station - quick piece of advice: DON'T PLAN ON PUSHING A Z VERY FAR...
Does this mean the reserve tap is faulty and needs cleaning/new fuel tap kit etc? Or was I already on reserve?
I assume the lever points to the various marks by the rounded end with the little raised line/pointer....or is it the lever itself that has to point?....now I'm getting confused!

HELP

Thanks mate, I've just been out to have a look and yes, I was switching the tap to "reserve" instead of "on"......
This is what happens when you have had bikes for the last 10 years with fuel injection....!

I took my bike to have the carbs balanced. The guy did a cracking job except he drained petrol from my tank to fill his "dummy" tank that he used whilst balancing the carbs. I went home on reserve thinking I would be OK but had to push for a while.

The worst bit was that I got to the petrol station and they had a problem and all the pumps were off. The wife rescued me in the end with a petrol can !!
