Clutch

#1 PostAuthor: pignog » Thu Jun 27, 2013 10:39 am

My latest project, which is fresh from USA is a 76 Z900 A4, you have to pull the clutch in before starting, like on modern bikes, is this normal? also the wires from the handlebar switches run inside the bars, which is neat, and it has a triangular shaped brake master cylinder.
Any ideas?

There is a switch underneath the clutch lever that makes to complete circuit yes this is normal , normally I thought it was just the 1000's that had the cables run inside the bars , though could be wrong

Yes also the triangular master cylinder didn't come in until '77, so it could be a kz1000 A1 / A2 handlebar set up altogether...

Yeah! a pic would be good .... Could be a Z900... A5 or A6?
Whatever they are?
Does sound like a z1000-A1 or A2, as Jay1969 mentions.

Never heard of an a6

A5 was a runout of parts held in Nebraska as I was led to believe
