The clutch cable outer at its lower end has a ferrule pressed onto the outer sleeve.
This sits in a hole in the outer casing and that hole has a slot in the bottom of it.
Put the cable ' inner' into the slot and pull the outer back into the hole.
before you connect the inner to the actuator arm you need to put the coiled return spring over the short length of inner cable.
The nipple on the inner attaches to the clevis on the actuator arm and then is held in with a split pin.
There are two types of actuator;
A nasty nylon worm drive with helical teeth and a three bearing affair with a slug with 'ramps' machined into the back face.
The bearings are not replaceable as the captive plates they live between are spot welded together.
This part in its entirety may be available.
I believe the later three bearing affair can be retro fitted but not certain about that.
The J1 has an 18 amp hour battery and it never has given trouble capacity wise.
I have swopped it for a lightweight version made by Motobatt which is a fraction of the capacity and half the weight at a similar cost.
That said i no longer have lights or speedo or horn or fuel pump like the geep.
It is a MBTX9U or MTBX9U from M&P delivered free and upside down but that makes no difference as they dont leak!
