New member seeking knowledge

Hi guys I have not owned a z for many years now but managed to find a z1 in fair condition in my budget my question is the front forks do not have the reflectors casting which would be chrome on some instead the reflector is on or around bottom yolk under tank ,single disk front brake to front of fork on left hand only are these from another bike many thanks davy

sounds like a usa A4 front end. - no reflector/single disc. - is the disc 4 bolt or 6 bolt ?
would need to see the tank/side panels/taillight etc to confirm if the rest of the bike is Z1 or Z900.
any photos ?

Hi and welcome to the site. Could you post some pictures? You may have the forks from an A4. If it has the reflectors under the tank it maybe from the US.
Frame and engine numbers would help identify.
Other main visual differences between the Z1, Z1A/B and A4 are carbs, clocks, type of caliper, engine black on Z1, sidepanel shape, taillight lens shape, front forks as you mentioned, instrument light cluster, badges to name a few

You've not owned a Zed for years???
You'd better get prepared for a right good shafting, as the prices for EVERYTHING has went mental for anything for a Zed.
