Ay up Saxon,
When I was doing my 650 I asked Dave at Zpower what he recommended and he said he used B&Q BBQ paint.
I ignored his suggestion and used PJ1.
I've never been happy with it. Comes of regularly and needs touching up.
Next time I'll try his suggestion!
Cheers,
Bongo.

On my Zephyr curently undergoing a rebuild http://www.z1ownersclub.co.uk/forum/vie ... hp?t=25071 I firstly used Simoniz silver engine enamel as the alloy was blackened and stained, it looked shit so I blasted it all off and used rubb n buff on the crankcases, polished the covers and B & Q BBQ paint on the head, the B & Q satin black goes on really nice.

Hi saxon, ive used halfords engine enamel (satin black) brush on and the results are ace, no brush lines no flaking , you wouldnt know its brush on, even restore my wheels with it.
Dont know if they do a silver but you could ask. VHT do a silver spray but ive never used it.
Some restorers are using rub n buff silver flake artist wax, its on ebay.
