I'd asked on the forum previously and was told that the blue and brown wires in the headlight go to the splitter. (see photos). BTW the wiring to the splitter is temporary until I get everything working fine. I do have 'some' aesthetic sympathy

Everything seemed fine at first, front brake lever now lights up the brake light, rear brake lever lights up the brake light as per normal, headlight working, high and low beams working fine - but, as soon as I switch on the headlight the brake warning light on the console lights up and stays on until I switch the headlights off again and neither brakes light up the rear lamp and the indicators don't work until I switch off the headlight again.
Indicators and hazards (US import) also work fine.
There is a brown and white wire which is sitting idle, not sure what that's for.
Any ideas where I'm going wrong here?
Oh and can someone tell me what fuses should go in the fuse box, seems a bit of a mix in there so I'd like to make sure I at least have a few spare. I blew 2 earlier in my feeble attempt to get things working

Cheers.
John
