Bar Grips

1. Whats the best way to remove grips without damaging them? existing grips are A1 nick but wrong type for my Z1B as they are Z1000 type.

2. Whats the best way to fit new grips.

John,

in reverse order,

2, Dunk 'em in warm water & then just slide 'em on :!: The water will dry out in no time, don't use oil, grease or spray lube :shock:

1, To remove old ones (as long as they ain't glued on), carefully use a flat blade screwdriver & work it in and around until all way down. Whilst doing this a spray of WD40 or Duckoil (other lubrication brands are available :? ) will ease the operation :wink:

just changed mine over, old ones came off by pulling and twisting.
new ones a bit of hairspray inside left one,tip from bedlow. (dont know y he has hairspray :D ) dont forget to remove one of the throttle cables from the carb

Wot brand of hairspray, is Elnette OK?
Gettin' worried by some of the tips on 'ere lately, its more like Cosmopolitan magazine (not that I ever read it of course, errhum!)

Grips are on nice n tight, used soaking in water method as Pigford suggested rather than the hairdressers option!
Old ones were glued on so had to cut em off.
