Anyone got experience of Gold Valves?

#1 PostAuthor: Fred the Zed » Wed May 29, 2013 5:40 am

Hi

I'm looking to improve the suppleness and responsiveness of the forks on my Z1R but retain the original look. I was looking at either fitting Maxton GP20 fork inserts - nice but expensive or these Racetech Gold Valve Emulators http://www.racetech.com/HTML_FILES/EMULATORGV.HTML has anyone tried these? How good were they? Where did you get them from etc etc?

I fitted Hagen progressive springs to my Z1R Forks, a great improvement.

I put gold emulators in my z1000st.
They were from Ebay USA and were actually for a big trail bike

I find that the forks don't dive as badly when braking and the bike is much smoother over bumps and ripples.

The forks had previously had new oil before I fitted them and the springs were not changed

Yes they are excellent, well worth the money :!: I have fitted them in several vintage dirt bikes as well as my old GSXR. Race Tech are very knowledgeable and helpfull, should you need any advice along the way :D
