probs with new mag wheel

I bought a NOS genuine Kawasaki back mag wheel for my thou A1 from flea bay and, like the mug I am, had a tyre fitted before checking that the cush drive sprocket fitting would be the same
.
The wheels it currently has are aftermarket, presumeably sourced from Italy from where the bike was imported. I assumed, wrongly it seems, that the cush drive/sprocket fitting would be the same regardless of wheel.
Anyone got any bight ideas?

Ralph I've got a Kawasaki Z1000 A1/A2 sprocket carrier and cush drive if you want 'em F.O.C.,just pay the postage.

Vduk, has the rear wheel got a rear hub, as the Z900's, or has it the disc brake set up as your Z100-A1? This is the only difference that I know in the alloy/mags of that era.

It seems that the after market wheels use their own cush drive / sprocket carriers. A mate has a 900 with a set of Lesters and his sprocket carrier/cush drive is different again!

If you've got a genuine Kawasaki wheel for a Z1000A surely a Kawasaki sprocket carrier will fit.
What size diameter sprocket carrier does your new wheel need

A genuine Kawasaki sprocket carrier should fit. The diameter for the carrier to fit into is 200mm (give or take a mil) and the diameter of the central boss bit with the 'o' ring is 70mm. On the after-market wheel this was 65mm. On the after-market wheel the actual centre of the wheel is much wider so that the sprocket carrier is much narrower. The cush drive rubbers are a tad different as well.

Did you get the pics I sent? If so do you think the sprocket carrier and cush drive you offered will fit? If so let me know how much postage to send and I'll whisk it to you ASAP. The tyre on the bike is getting balder than me in the middle!

Didn't get any pictures,but I'll check the sprocket carrier out when I get back from work tonight and let you know how it measures up.

Ralph,the sprocket cover I've got measures approx 200mm so it looks like you might be in luck.

It fits perfectly.
I shall have to machine up another spacer as the whole lot seems slightly narrower than the swinging arm, but that is no sweat. I'll soon spin one up on my el cheapo chinese lathe!
