The low beam is gone on a sealed beam headlight. Is their any way to drill out the origional bulb and replace witha standard bulb?

No, however a variety of sealed and non sealed beams will fit into the original rim. Mine had a Lucas one (non sealed) in when I bought it.
Why not see if you can find a Cibie replacement? Crofty

my sealed beam on my z1 was not very good (i recon most zeds were crashed at night :lol: )
