indicator bulbs keep blowing only the rear its never both sometimes it the left and then other times it be the right but always one will not be working when i get back home from a ride out

if its only the rear it could be from high frequency vibration is your exhaust rubber mounted . have you got the correct rubber mounts + collars on the rear indicators

had that on my aftermarket parts I improved the rubber isolation.

There no rubber mounts i was thinking this might be the cause myself after i asked the question on here i will fit some rubber mounts thanks paul

removed the indicators and put two rubber o rings each side of the bracket that the indicator is fixed too so indicator steel washer o ring bracket o ring steel washer spring washer nut been out twice indicators still working

are they standard / original type indicators fitted in the original locations?

no they are mini indicators, and I also made brackets so I could fit them, the original brackets have been cut off by me

i dont think o rings would have sufficient damping. the problem with the mini indicators is you are limited with how thick your damper rubbers can be as there is not that much thread on the indicator so this limits the thickness of the rubber. really you need at least 3-4 mm either side of the indicator mounting bracket. could you not rubber mount the mounting bracket instead of the indicator? are the indicator flashing at the correct rate? + are they excessively bright ? check your charging system for overcharging. you can also buy a indicator regulator from e bay specially designed for mini indicators which you can adjust the voltage

I think its down to vibration since its only the rear that I was having problems with. I tried to rubber mount the bracket first but had nothing suitable in my shed at the time .so I had box of o rings and selected the one that was tight on the thread they are about 4mm in thickness but a bit less when crushed 2mm. I have done about 50 miles so far on country roads and everything is fine ,as before less than 5 miles a bulb would of blown.
Also you cannot notice the o rings which looks better but if It fails I will have to change the way I have done this but all good so far thanks paul
