have you got power to the green + grey indicator wires? when indicator is on . if you have run a wire from the indicator stem to a good earth. check the brown wire on the indicator relay should be live when the ignition is on. have you got the earth leads attached to the indicators /black wires with yellow trace. have you checked the bulbs

remove the wires from the indicator relay + short them together then turn on the indicators if they illuminate you have a faulty relay

tried shorting them even though it was a new relay but no result, brown wired is live with ignition on

did you say indicators fitted on one side only ?

I think the wiring uses the none selected indicator to make the circuit complete??

try fitting all four indicators ??

you need to find out why you have no power at the green + grey indicator wires. ? the orange wire in the switch is live the feed for the indicators check to see if you have voltage at this wire

tried fitting all 4 indicators, no luck, opened the switch again, ignition on
, no power to the orange wire, pulled the block connectors apart, no power to either side of the orange wire, power at the orange side of the ind relay, tried the orange wire at the hazard switch plug, got power there. plugged the hazard switch in, all 4 illuminated but not flashing

if you have power at the orange wire that is connected to the relay you must have a break or bad connection on the orange wire. run a wire from where the orange fits on the relay + connect it to the orange in the switch

ran a wire as suggested and indicators light up but not flash, pulled and reconnected all wires i could see in case of a bad connection, as there was no indicators when i got the bike i dont know if there may be anything i am missing, there is a two pin orange and brown wires at the head of the loom inside the headlight shell with nothing i can see to plug into, should there be ?

yes that is for the indicator bleeper it doesn't have to be connected. did you disconnect the orange wire from the relay + attach the wire on to the relay terminal + then to the orange in the switch? if you have done this? your relay is faulty. also disconnect the orange from the relay + connect to the + side of the battery if the indicator comes on but does not flash your relay is at fault .if the indicator does not come on your orange wire is broken

took the orange wire off the relay and connected relay male spade to the orange in the switch and indicators flash, took wire from the battery + to the orange wire at the relay and nothing so it seems i got a faulty new loom?

just make sure that the spade connector on the orange wire is a good connection where it is crimped sometimes the wire is not crimped. only the outer sheathing. normally that wire has no joint it is a continuous piece of wire from the relay to the block connector under the tank but the z900a4 has hazards + the orange wires could possibly be crimped together in the harness + that is where it could be broken
