Hi lads, need some help/advice. Got a Dyna S ignition and coils fitted. Fires ok on 1/4 but no spark on 2/3. New coils fitted and I have swapped the leads over and coils ok. According to Dyna its a module gone down, any suggestions and has anyone got a spare I could borrow/buy?

I would swapping the modules over to be 100% sure.
If you cant see a white substance under the module you can be sure its had it.
Ive got an dyna s with a one module working.i could sell you the hole unit.

Hi,
Is that a common problem with Dyna? How long did the coils / ignition last until the issue?

Im not sure how common this is.But i had a electrical short prob once.In the process of sorting it the dyna s blow.I notice there is now fuse to protect it.
SO IF YOU EVER HAVE A ELECTRICAL PROBLEM.DISCONNECT THE DYNA TILL SORTED

if you contact dyna they will sort It, if it is out of warranty they will still sort it but there is a small charge but still cheaper than a new one.

Have to say Dyna units are over rated.
My first one failed after about 18 months on 1/4. I put it down to bad luck since everyone seems to think they are the dogs, so I bought another and that too failed after about 9 months.
Be interested to know how many other failures are out there

As I've yet to build my bike, I've been waiting to find out more info. about electronic ignition,
and as already mentioned, many say Dyna S are the dogs,
but I'm curious about Boyer Bransden... anyone had experience with them?

I have used both dyna and boyer and never had any problems with either, there is an upside with boyer for me though, they are made just a few miles from where i live and you can just walk in and get your parts.

That's good then living so close to them! I guess the million dollar question would be which performs better of the two ?

Having had both i can say i have not noticed any difference's in performance between the two and believe it's just down to personal choice.

Have a Dyna S, on my zed 5+ years no problems. A lot better than buggering about with points.
