I've been labouring to fit the brake side Tarozzi rearsets I've bought for my 1978 Z1R. Whatever I've tried just hasn't worked.

The supplier is being as helpful as possible and has offered a full refund if want it, but I'd just rather resolve the matter and get them fitted. To this end the supplier (Discovolante) have asked whether I'd be interested in working through the problem so it can be resolved for me and any other unfortunate soul trying to fit these rearsets to a shed in the future.

To do this, I need to be sure that my Z1R is the same as others and is standard in terms of footrest mountings and brake pivot etc. So, I need to compare and contrast against another Z1R to identify any differences....so....if there's anyone out there with a Z1R who lives anywhere near Sutton Coldfield (B73 5JQ) and who is prepared to take a ride over for an hour (free tea and bacon sarnies) I would really appreciate it.

As it stands, I'm waiting for a part to arrive from Tarozzi to replace the bit I've cut, welded, hammered trying to get it to fit and then thrown the length of the garden in frustration. Ahem. So that might take a couple of weeks to arrive.

If you have a Z1R with Tarozzis fitted, I would forever be in your debt if you could take lots of close up photos of the rear brake set up and post them up.

I'm now anticipating a period glorious weather whilst I can't ride the Zed.

I think I'm off down an engineering shop to get 6.5mm cut out the middle of my Tarozzi rocker arm and it welded up and plated again.

What happened decided against this ??

I took the rocker to an engineering shop who were unable to take 6.5mm out of the middle of the rocker because of the way the rocker arms are located, so they took 6.5mm off the frame end of the rocker and rewelded the master cylinder actuating arm back on. Unfortunately, the rewelded arm no longer lines up with master cylinder pushrod and the pedal linkage now interferes with footrest mounting plate. It turned out to be a right dogs dinner.

that all looks right around the brake pivot the RAASK system is kinda the same but the actuator rod is kinked and offset to miss the frame looks like that should be the case for those as well is that rear pivot the result of the "butchering"?> cos it looks toooo short wheres the pictures of everything fred? gives us a chance to eveluate a bit better

sorry I meant no disrespect although with the pedal where it should go from the angle the pic is at ,it looks like the brake push arm would be to high

Sorry mate, I didn't mean it as a rebuke (I'm not like that at all). I appreciate your help, I really do.

The arm from the pivot that is connected to the brake pedal is about 6-7mm out of lateral alignment, which is why I had that amount machined off the other end of the pivot... then I found that arm rubbed against the rearset mounting plate (Doh!)

It's a right head scratcher!
