#1 PostAuthor: Paul M » Mon Apr 01, 2013 2:26 pm

Does any one know the exact size of this 'O' ring or where i can get them from. Reason being is i need 8 of them cos i've got the double disc conversion on the zed and Z Power (bless them) are asking £6.50 for one, thats £52!

Part No is 43053-002

Thanks up front.

Might be worth buying from abroad if these are the right ones.

Hi Lads,
My ones are on here -
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/KAWASAKI-NEW- ... 35c60fc0d4

The listing tells you what they fit and shows a picture of the caliper (76 onwards style).

Think the ones you want may be for the Z1 caliper??

pm me if you think I can be of any help.

Paul.
BunnysZ bought a pair of repro calipers from Z Power which always squealed. Whilst trying to sort out his fuel consumption and other problems we stripped his calipers and what we found was quite shocking. Basically the pistons were too large for the caliper and no amount of pushing could force the piston back. I pushed them out with fluid pressure and dressed them down a few thou' with my fibral mop.
Turning to the caliper bolts we found that even after only one season the o rings were split. It's possible that the heat generated by the sticking caliper had caused the early demise they did in fact look like 2pence items.
I have those factors boxes of o rings and we used what we could to get him going. Needless to say they weren't completely satisfactory but as a get you through until the next shopping trip they did just fine.
I agree the cost of genuine from Z power is ridiculous but probably this is down to Kawasaki selling to them with merely a trade discount and not any sort of blatant profiteering.
What I am trying to say is that genuine is the easy option to get the correct item. Incorrect o rings would definitely be a false economy.

I had reason to buy some o rings for the master cylinder reservoir and once I had the correct size went to my local trade supplier and bought 10 for £6 including delivery.

I would suggest a similar course of action may be a good solution.

Chris, mine are repo ones as well, went out yesterday and on the way back they started squealing had a look at them today and the 'O' rings are chewed up a bit for starters, iv'e got 'O' rings but the ones in the caliper as you will know are a lot smaller in there wall size. I'll prob try the local motor factors first as you suggest and go from there.
