#1 PostAuthor: maak » Mon Mar 18, 2013 1:21 pm

Would the GPZ Uni-Track's speedo fit my KZ700?Here is a link http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... TQ:GB:1123

Are the plugs the same?Would like to fit that speedo as I really like it but I'm a bit afraid I have to modify it..and my lights doesn't work without the dash..
Sorry guyz for my annoying questions :|

Maak,

Dont worry about your annoying questions.

Being the clubs "in house agony uncle", I've had worse questions to deal with!!!

Sadly Maak it looks like the clocks were bike specific listed as KZ700A1 and KZ700A1L unless somebody knows better

I'm sure they could be 'made' to fit. Speedo is cable driven, so that part will be easy & I think the rev counter is connected to the low voltage side of the coils.
I wouldn't have thought they'll be 'plug & play' but with some re-wiring they should work fine.

My 1000R had a set of those on it when I got it, the guy had bodged it to fit and they worked okay, but I put the standard clocks back on. So as GB says they can probably be made to work, they'll have most of or all the same electrical wiring, just probably not the same plugs.

They won't work without some re-wiring.
As your lights only work with the original clocks connected you will need to identify that part of the circuit in the main loom and bypass it so it doesn't run through the clocks.
It shouldn't be that difficult as it should only be a main power feed from the ignition to the lighting switch.
