I had the same problem last week. I ended up on the German ebay and got what I wanted and they've sent my item. The USA guy I think just could not be bothered, saying that I've had a lot of stuff from the States before without any probs. Is it a new or secondhand part your trying to get ? Another thing you have to bear in mind is what part of the States you get the part from, I've been put off a few times by the difference in shipping costs from one state to another. I did ask around my friends to see if they knew anyone over there whom I could use as an address and then they would post it to me, but no luck there, Hope this helps, $tevie.

In my experience some US sellers don't automatically offer postage to the UK so the ad states "does not ship to UK"

I wouldn't be put off by this and contact the seller if you really need the part.

The sad truth is though that buying parts from the US is no longer as easy, or cheap, as it once was.

Footnote: There are also plenty of willing members who can help. You did the right thing by asking. What goes around comes around and all that.
