Finally got my Z1000A2 motd and taxed
and on the road done about 100 miles on it
and it started to smoke gradualy geting worse
till it started to oil up no 1 & no 3 plugs.
Done a compression test dry and wet.
average reading dry was 150 psi
average reading wet was between 200/250 psi
Stripped it down sending head barrels & pistons
to local engineer to be micd to see what is and whats
not worn.
But front cam chain guide was snapped and sat at the
bottom of the sump, anyone know why this happend and
why the cam chain didnt rattle or jump about, its got
an ape tensioner (not fitted by me)

Mikey that little guide braeking is quite common, slack cam chains dont help, maybe the last owner fitted the APE tensioner to get rid of the rattle caused by the the broken guide as you get quite abit more adjustment with it,just a thought
