Fork tubes. Get plated or get new?

Hi, What's the best solution, how much does Phillpotts charge per set? What are the repro ones like? Are there any differences in the tubes between the models? (72 forks)

You can get new (pattern) for around a £100 - Philpots do a good job but probably cost x2 that much

MalmoJoe, The Z1, Z1A, Z1B and Z900-A4 have the same fork tubes.
Z1000 and later have the small spacers and valve burnished in, and are not as easy to get plated and reground.

These Z1 repro tubes are great and do work out cheaper than having the originals plated and re-ground. I would recommend them any time.
I do believe the repro tubes are probably made by the original contractor that initially supplied them to Kawasaki.

Philpots charged me £160 all in including delivery and collection, well worth it. but depends on the state of the originals.

Re-plating and reground by philpots ,HCP&G etc generally beats original or pattern legs hands down.
They are proper hard chrome plated the same as hydraulic rams etc and last much longer.

I will probably get the pattern ones for the Z, but I also need my H1 tubes doing and you can't get the early type, so they'll go to Philpots. Was also thinking of sending my calliper pistons, but perhaps I'll just buy pattern.
