#1 PostAuthor: z1000puddin » Sun Feb 24, 2013 9:33 pm

Gents,
Can anyone advise if the rear disc from a 1978 16" ltd mag wheel will fit a 1978 A2 18" rear spoked wheel ?

ie are they the same offset ?

Does it not depend on the ltd model? Mine had a 16"rear wheel but had an A1 swing arm and the same caliper as fitted to an A1. Was basically an A1 with silly wheels, a fugly seat and peanut tank.
I have the disc off of it if you need measurements.

Cheers

Nigel,
I have just measured both my A1 rear discs and the dimensions are
Dia -290mm
Offset (Face of disc to face of mount face) -23mm

The Ltd disc I have has
Dia. - 277mm
Offset - 19mm

If you can meausre your one that would great.

Stu, I reckon z1bman has it spot on with his info (well done sir).
The disc I have has the same dimensions as your ltd one. Weirdly though, the caliper was identical to an A1. It must look similar but is clearly not.

Cheers

Nigel,
Yes the rear caliper is a lot different , I have one on the shelf pic below.
I better keep on looking for a rear A1, A2 disc or Z1R I think are the same.

Stu, that is nothing like the caliper I had on my ltd. mine looked like a Z1R caliper.

Yep, that's the one. I don't know if it worked with the smaller diameter disc as I never rode the bike.

1977/1978 z1000 B1/B2 ltd uses the above calliper. 1979/1980 z1000 B3/B4 uses the z1r type calliper
