rear wheel axle

when the rear wheel axle goes in the wheel should it go in from the left or from the right , or does it not make any difference as long as spacers are on the chain side

i think the manuals always that the axle should enter from the right but i find adjusting the chain can be awkward so i switch it round so the axle goes in from the left if sat on the bike.

The nut should be on the R/H/S and if you've got 4/4 pipes you'll know why.
