Hi folks, I'm after some advise[/img]Image
During my rebuild of my 82 1000J2 I was offered a late model shim under bucket GPZ1100 unitrac motor which had had the chain break and take out the back of the crankcase. It also destroyed the clutch push rod which is a different length to the J one as it has a different clutch. Can I just turn down the J rod to the right length and if so can anyone tell me the correct length.
The photo is of the complete J rod and the remains of the GPZ rod lined up to where I think they would be level. alternatively, does anyone have a GPZ rod for sale.[/img]

311mm for the 1100 unitrak / Z1100R.

Cant see why you couldn't take the end caps off and turn it down to length.
So long as the caps remain a press fit i guess it should be OK.

Failed! Would anyone by any chance have a part number for the rod I need as I think the best bet is to try and trace one.

Thanks , Phil.

Hi Phil,
I may well have the part you need, I do have one but it was last seen in a box in the shed so could take some finding! I will do my best tomorrow and let you know.

Brilliant and thanks for the reply but hopefully I've just ordered one from the states via the 'Wanted section' of to this fantastic forum. If I'm stuck I'll give you a shout.

Thanks to all

Phil.
