Exhaust Stud

Advise please, need to take out a fast exhaust stud from the head in situ, not snapped off, yet! but last 4mm thread not tight for the nut, what is the best way to get the bugger out?

put two nuts on the thread and lock them together and try to remove with a spanner, if it wont move try plusgas wd40 or a bit of heat, zpower sell the studs

Take your time, don't expect plus gas to work straight away, repeated applications and let it soak. Then apply heat to the immediate area around the stud. With a bit of luck and patience it should hopefully come out.

If there is some stud showing, one of these Sealey extractors will get it out.

Machine mart also sell those extractors - I've had one for a while and been most impressed with it.

Thanks guys, I borrowed a stud remover from Keith Z1R, took them out like a dream, no probs, thanks Keith. :D
