Broke a small piece of fin off the cylinder block whilst removing the head.
I'm really p*ss*d off because I was being very careful, anyway as I have the loose piece and it fits back exactly I wondered if it can be invisibly repaired, i.e. welded?
If so does anyone know of anywhere in the Midlands that can do it and how much it is likely to cost - failing that it's good old Ebay for a used block!
I'm feeling pretty dumb at the moment!!
Cheers,
Andy

Phil,
I'm near Lichfield, Staffs.
I was hoping to find someone nearer but if nothing else turns up I suppose I could make a trip up to Hull.
The bit that has broken off is tiny, 20mm x 8mm x 3mm thick, do you think this can be done?
This time of year I was hoping to be on it, not in it, well at least it's raining.
Cheers,
Andy

Andy try SEP at Kegworth,TEL:01509 673295.They are located near the junction of the M1/24 and the A50 by-pass.I would say they are about 45mins-1 hour away from you.

Just picked the block up from SEP, they've done a very good job of the weld repair, would definitely recommend them.
Jack, thanks for the tip.

Andy

Ollie, they did a couple of cranks for me a few years back.I put one into a motor for a bike i sold to a mate and has done trouble free 30+K miles and the other is covered in grease waiting to be used.
I know several Classic Z racers who use S.E.P. and are very impressed with their crank work.
