Hi, is the american l/h switchgear the same as a uk one, for a 78 z1r. think a usa one has some wires in a block connector. Regards ross

I have restored a set of Switchgear for a zed A4, and in the link for eBay, why is that big lump underneath for/do? :(. And why so much?

The big lump underneath is for the self cancelling indicators/ hazards. Not the prettiest of switches....but want switchgear original

The switch is basically the same however you need to realise that the wires exit from the front of the switch in the majority of cases not down the bars and it also may be missing the headlamp flasher element as that was not always fitted , the lump is a solonoid for the self cancelling indicators I can post pics if necessary of the difference........... The beltdrive 440 is a good idea but you WILL have to either hard wire it or change the connectors and the colours are different but again the wires exit from the front of the switch (it never rains in the States  ) hope this waffle makes sense

the z440 switch is probably identical apart from the wiring might be a different length easily sorted. as for the wiring colours kawasaki wiring is pretty much unchanged to this day regarding which colour wire goes to what electrical item on the bike
