I have just fitted my camshafts & was wondering if there is any specific side float.
Mine seemed quite tight, compared to my other zed thou, where there was a very slight float (before torquing the caps down.

They are after market Andrews cams 2x

It will be fine.
End float is governed by the cam locating in the one of the cam caps.
The raised ring on the camshaft locates in one of the cam caps and it's only function is to prevent the cam sliding over too far so the cam bolts etc don't eat in to the head.

Hi what is the torque setting you have written on the paper? only ask as there is a typo in the Haynes book of lies with incorrect torque,i just nip em up with a spanner as they are very prone to strip...Cheers Paul J
