Just got hold of an MRE lock up clutch kit from USA (eBay)

Anyone got any tips about fitment :?:

Seems quite straight forward, already got proper casing cover so won't foul

Any advice welcome before i try and start to set it up :P

When you install it you'll see the levers put pressure on the pressure plate - the issue is you need to modify the pressure plate - drill and install little teflon buttons to stop the levers from eventually cracking the pressure plate.

Thanks for that tip Jeff, sounds like good advice.
I'm gonna get a needle bearing, mushroom lifter from Steve (Debben) and would be happy for any DETAILED information/advice on Jeffs comments above for strengthening the end pressure plate. :|
Where can i get hold of teflon buttons or similar (nylon maybe) :?:

do you need to split the cases to do the work you are doing? as I fancy one of the clutch lifters as well, I was going to call in Debbens next week to buy one. ask Jeff for a price for the buttons.

And take lots of pictures of the work so we can all learn from the Pigford master class

These guys will sell you a modified pressure plate and are happy to give out any advise. I nearly bought a complete kit from them for the Harris.

Kev - no just remove the clutch casing and pressure plate.

Pigford - some fit steel buttons to spread the load.

Cheers guys!
Rich, can I locate some 'ready-to-fit' steel buttons, or do i just get some rod cut :?:
Any idea on size (diameter rod & length of cut buttons) :?
