Help! Does anyone have a uk Z1 or Z1A who could take a few internal shots of the left hand switch
I'm rebuilding a switch which goes from low beam to Pass and it doesn't spring back to low beam as it should. I can't see what's missing in the upper half. I'm sure there was a spring or a piece of sprung steel that returned the switch knob from pass back to low beam.

Just located a few images prior to restoring, think I've solved it but would be good to other switches. Looks like a small 5mm wide bit of spring steel is all it is and mines broken shxte I'll have to fabricate one.

Where can I buy a sheet of Blue spring steel from? approx 0.012" thick x 0.25" wide or similar.
How do you profile spring steel? I seem to recall you heat till it glows Red, form the profile you need, probably a few attempts, quench in oil and jobs a goodun

I'm sure its not that easy but if anyones made something similar let me know how you got on.

Looking at the spring, you could make one from a clock spring, go to a Charity shop or car boot, and get one of those old fire place clocks, ( with a wind up key type) and get the spring out and make your spring.like this one.

Be great if you can keep some pictures of how you do this.
I have a US version of this switch (where the Pa is blanked off) which I need to get going properly.
I assume there must be a loop wire to this contact as well?
